This is an advanced class for experienced hand builders who are confident working on their own but enjoy the social aspect and structure of a weekly class. The instructor will serve as a facilitator, assisting and guiding individual students as needed. A new class that will focus on how to make. We will be using reclaimed clay and dissecting most of our pots. This is a class for lots of practice and fun. Yes, there will be challenges. (think Great Pottery Throw Down) 

In this class you will work on such skills as how to throw taller forms using all your clay, the mechanics of throwing with larger amounts of clay, and how to use a rib to shape your piece. 

Prerequisite: Intro to Wheel or previous wheel knowledge.

Anatomy of the Portrait

This portrait drawing class will focus on the individual features of the face: the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.  We will work in graphite and charcoal and explore each facial feature’s anatomy, form, and simplification.  Learn to create life-like portraits from master copies as well as working from a live model over the last several sessions. 

Pet Portraits
